The art of shoemaking in Italy has always existed. In the late 1700 in Montegranaro the production of “chiochiera” was started. Those were the slippers made of large soles in equine leather and straps, being a precursor to the modern day footwear.
That was the beginning of fortune of the little town which rapidly passed from a merely handmade production to the proto- industrial one growing exponentially and passing from 120.000 pairs produced in 1861 to over one million pairs in 1904. Nowadays Montegranaro makes part of the district of Fermo that is one of the most important footwear production districts in the world.

CERTIFICATION 100% MADE IN ITALY
The certification “100% Made in Italy” was established in 1990 in the city of Fermo and it can be attributed to any pair of shoes entirely made in Italy. The certification “Made in Italy” has the objective of certifying men’s shoe manufacturing processes entirely fulfilled in Italy and of not attributing the certification to the footwear manufactured abroad. The certification has been approved and co- financed by the Ministry of Economic Development of Italy. The certification system of our footwear includes an in- depth analysis and periodic thorough controls of all the aspects of the highest quality footwear manufacturing, i.e. starting from designing and finishing with traceability of the manufacturing of leather and of the finished shoe, as well as the analysis of the used materials in terms of the requirements on hygiene, health and work security regulations.
Traceability of certified Italian products Made in Italy is available for consumers.
